Yes, a couple of e-mails into the site about it today. I was offered that exact prop from Henry Alvarez himself a few years back (for a LOT less than $3500) and I passed on it. This prop may have been used (somehow, somewhere) in the blood -*test*-('") SFX sequence but it is unfortunately not visible at all in the film. T

thanks for confirming that Todd
I've seen this film hundreds of times (not on the big screen but I hope to change that), and I NEVER ever recall seeing that beastie. Thanks for giving me proof on this, I was scratching my head this morning looking at that prop and thinking, "Nope, I never saw that." Interesting, Henry offered it to you Todd. Did you manage to get something from him anyway? best Kim

Alvarez' son sold it to an old member here who went by the name diabolic, and then diabol1c. (I got some of my prop barrels from him) He then turned around and sold it on eBay. It went for $900.00. Alvarez wasn't impressed by that move. I would have bought it back then, but I didn't have the money. Now I really can't afford it.

I wouldn't purchase it just to sell it

That really strikes me as just so wrong that it would just be bought to sell on ebay. I watched the film again last night and it is visible from the back as it comes out of Palmer's Petri dish. I recognized the shape as it "lept" out of thedish. If you knew what you were looking for then this was used, but as Todd said not in any way that's clearly visible. Even knowing it was in the film, I'll happily pass on it. I hope whomever gets it, is a fan of the film/Bottin/Alvarez and doesn't sell it on ebay a third time.

I also just took a look at this again, in 1/4 speed on a 50" screen. I don't see it to be honest although it could definitely be (and probably is) this prop, you just can't make it out. (It's onscreen for about 4-5 frames.) I prefer to believe it is just blood leaping out of the dish than a screaming mouth shape... Maybe someone could post a vidcap? T

I agree

T I'd rather believe it's blood trying to escape myself. That's what I always thought and I agree with what you're saying Todd. It IS hard to make out, but once I saw the prop the shape stuck. And watching that moment, I thought that could be it. But I'd rather not think that way. ;)

By the way... The last I heard is that it is deteriorating badly. Small pieces were falling off. It's foam latex, and over a quarter century old. It was never meant to be around this long. Preservation should be a major issue, taken to a professional.

It went for a little over 4G's. Impressive.

'Slight 60's acid damage'? Is that why Palmer's blood looks like Mick Jagger? XidiouX
