Best time to workout? Any others.
Todd! Knowing that the best time to workout is before eating breakfast. (I know cuz you told me) Is there a second best time to do it? I'm sure ANY time is fine, but I thought I'd ask. Getting up at 4:50 AM is really starting to suck!

Hey Stef, For your specific goal (bodyfat loss) the best time for you to work out is upon waking before breakfast. You want to do your cardio on an empty stomach so you are burning bodyfat stores and the best time to do this is first thing in the AM after an 8+ hour fasting. If the morning doesn't suit your schedule (I'd never get up at 4:50am to work out, period) then the next best times are when you haven't eaten and your stomach is empty. So, do your cardio before you eat, while you are hungry. Then you can eat. You've been doing excellent, keep at it and keep me posted on your progress! T

before breakfast, eh? hmm... if that's the case then maybe i'll start getting up a little earlier. hey Todd, what's a good time to work out? like, i mean... should i be working out for at least a good half-hour? more? less? i'm looking for an easy routine to ease myself into something a little more rigourous.

miker, I only recommending for Stefan to work out before breakfast. His goal is specific to lose a fair amount of bodyweight and needs to burn as many calories as possible in his workouts from bodyfat. First thing in the AM is optimal for this. For example Future Filmmaker has the opposite goal and I would recommend to him he workout later in the day after having eaten a few times. To answer your question I need to know what your goals are and what kind of training you are currently doing, if any. Also what is your height/weight? An hour workout is pretty much tops for anybody.
