Old topic, but I had to add something that may not have been posted.
The Space Thing figure, not directly film related, but instead based on John W Campbell's original alien. Great design created by Pete Von Sholly and sculpted by his wife Andrea.
This guy is also interesting because he's part of a series of Pete Von Sholly's classic Aurora-style mock-up boxes of model-kits-that-never-were, including many Lovecraft monsters alongside the beloved three-eyed Thing. And Dark Horse was groovy enough to produce a kit of it!

Dexter: Thanks for posting, we know about the new SOTA models, they rock. Gave the Spider-Head away at TF6 and just found out today SOTA is sending Outpost #31 the MacReady Vs. Kennel-Thing diorama!
Verde: Thanks for posting that very cool stuff. That Space Thing from the WGT? novella we have seen before but I long forgot about it. However, I really like it, do you know where it can be purchased?
That mock-up THING box is pretty damn nice too. Thanks for posting that stuff for us to see.

Hey Todd- one place you can find it is here:
http://www.entertainmentearth.com/hitlist.asp?theme=Space%20Thing
BUT I'd keep checking Ebay- I found mine awhile back for 1$ ($9 total after shipping). He's not a big figure, so paying nearly $17 may seem outrageous. It's a nice piece either way!

Thanks for that link. I will watch eBay as best I can. Any search suggestions? I don't mind the $17, but they want another $14 to ship it to Canada, plus that's US dollars. Also it is a Special Order item, I guess it takes awhile to get it in. :?
