Welcome to Slayer's Help Center Jeez.....no pressure now..... Well.. hmm... CAN'T UNINSTALL OBLIVION FOR MONTHS! Even if i did delete all of its files, still cant, theres always an error message wich pops out. Need more info: Whats the specific error message? When does it pop up? Did you use the game's uninstall program or just tried to delete it's files? Exactly how did you attempt to delete the files cause many games use the same files and during the uninstall proccess it asks you "do want to delete these files...YES TO ALL or NO TO ALL. Without knowing any of the above at first guess it appears that the uninstall process became corrupted some how which can happen. Should that be the case....do you still have the game? Again without know the answers to the above questions you may need to reinstall it, then uninstall properly.

1. "( X ) InstallShield Wizard Setup has experienced an error: Please do the following: -Close any running files -Empty your temporary folder -Check your internet connection (Internet-Based Setups) Then Try to run the Setup again. ------------------------------------------- Error Code: -5001 < OK >" 2. When i press "Remove" an error pops- out (with a shit load of weird letters and numbers), i press "OK" then an another error pops out (the one i wrote) 3. I tried to uninstall, the errors where poppin' before my bro deleted the files... 4. I dont really know how my bro really did, i think like always, "DELETE" and "YES" then he cleaned up the trash can. 5. The CD wasn't original, borrowed it from a friend (which likes to download games and any other softwares) Then i said "Sorry, but the game doesnt work" and gave it back. I'm not sure but im thinking that the problem is because while i was installing the game the comp freezed, and i restarted it. But with any other game i COULD uninstall it...

If you went into the Program Files folder and attempted to delete it like that, it can often mess everything up. I've done that many times in the past. If that's already been done, I've never known how to get rid of it either without reformatting my entire hard drive.

camorgan- 01-05-2007

can you reinstall? I was confused about #5 above and when you're saying that happened. If so, reinstall and then uninstall. I guess I need a little clarification. Did you manually delete the files? If so, is the only place you're seeing that it's "still installed" in the add/remove programs listing?

Its sounds like it never fully installed and then you tried to delete files to get rid of it. Is that what happened? As Cam and I said, try to reinstall the game and if successful then uninstall it properly. If thats not possible then go to START>SEARCH snd select "file and folders" then type in Oblivion and choose C: drive. Click Search button and see what you get. If anything shows try to delete it. If it won't let you then you'll need to reboot in safe mode as admin. Then search the files the same way and you should be able to delete them. Reformating is not nessesary unles you curupted your OS some how and then (if its XP) you can repair it without reformating and loading a fresh copy of XP. Do you have XP? And did you try system restore function? Depending on when you started this mess...you can restore to date before it ever happened. Like going back in time.....dododododododododo (sorry but that was my bad twilight zone impression) :D anyway....if you need step by step instruction in how to use that feature then just ask.

My brother deleted the files manually. When i put the disc, it would say "Play game" i press it and the error pops out then theres the uninstall button, i press it, the same error. Yes i got XP, but it ain't genuine. ( and ..I DID NOT STARTED THIS MESS! :D )

1. Shoot your brother! :D 2. Did you try to delete all the search files as I described in my last post? If you did and it didn't work then lets try System restore (assuming you can on an illegal copy of XP). First click... START>ALL PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SYSTEM RESTORE then click next button. A window opens up with a calender there will be some days numbered in BOLD. Those are your possible restore points. Navagate thru the calender and find a bold number day before you first tried to install the game. Click next and follow the instructions. I think it will ask you are you sure....next and the computer will reboot and then ask again if you want to restore to the old date...click yes or next(whatever) and now your computer will be just as it was on the day you choose. Be aware that any software that you added in between the days you restore will be gone and may have to be reloaded. Post which of our suggestions you tried and if any worked, so we don't have repeat oursleves. Good luck

1. Shoot your brother! :D Good luck And maybe take some of this as Karma teaching a pirating lesson. :?

slayer- 01-07-2007

Not sure if allowed to link other forum sites here but the admin can delete this if thats the case. Anyway, Cam post which I agree with :) reminded me of a site you can trade your old games (all formats) for ones you've never played. Its called the Game TZ (trading zone). I don't know about you but there are only a few games I want to save and most I'll never play again. If you are in the same boat then this is an alternative to piracy. There no charge to join. http://gametz.com/Welcome.html So Moneo.....is your problem fixed?

Moneo- 01-08-2007

*Cocks the shotgun* Alright! (I have searched the files just before my bro deleted 'em :D) I tried the "System Restore" thing, The problem is that i can only go back 2 months. And that problem is longer than 4 months...

Future Filmmaker- 01-22-2007

I'm not sure if this is considered a "problem", but my computer hasn't ever really been able to play .gif animations. It's kind of annoying. I remember only seeing one once and I don't remember why. I've seen the photo again and it doesn't play.

I've seen the photo again and it doesn't play. By any chance, are you on dialup or hi-speed? Cause I know dialup connections that use the 5x acceleration won't show annimated .gifs unless you turn it off or slow it down....er...(like dialup can get any slower). Do see this .gif animated?

Future Filmmaker- 01-22-2007

No I don't see it move. I'm on DSL connection. This doesn't seem to be a problem that exists only on my computer, but also many computers at school. Then again, they really suck.
