Wow, that friggin program tells you absolutely everything doesn't it? I don't understand half of it. All I can tell is the hardware and software and your Windows updates. Ah, okay. You have a Pentium D 3.0Ghz processor. The one I have selected is a Core 2 Duo 2.4Ghz. Two different types of processors. But you have a pretty darn good processor, better than the one I have in mine. (A 3.0Ghz Pentium 4, but it's the best I can do on this old motherboard) How is Windows XP Media Center? I've always wanted it, but the separate discs you can buy on Newegg are full of bugs. It's only good if it comes with your computer, which in your case, it did. If I'm reading this correctly, you do not have a video card installed. You are running off of graphics from your motherboard. Ouch. By and by, you have a nice system, but honestly, not something I'd spend $1500 on. Sorry, not trying to be all macho "my machine is better than yours or anything". Right now, you have a fast computer than I do. The only thing you lack is a good video card. Get that and your future is set, dude.

I know Dells like the back of my hand because I repair/upgrade them when working a EA plus I have owned them too. I must say, of all the Delll's I have seen...never have I worked on one without a video card. Jarad....I'm curious to which Dell model do you have (Dimension 4700 etc) It should say it on the power-on button? I'm surprised the Belarc program didn't list it.

Dimension 9150. I chose to have no video card, I actually forgot about that. I've had zero problems running anything, and I can just upgrade that later. I suppose that is where the difference in price comes from though. Regarding the Media Centre XP whatever, I never really noticed a difference from regular XP, except this one program (aptly named "Media Centre") that I choose not to use. All graphics and appearance, but it's really just the same as WMP, which I also choose not to use :p... There are probably other differences though that I've just never noticed.

I familiar with Dimension 9150. Did you request the Windows XP Media Center? Its usually not standard on the 9150 but is on the Dimension E510. You got a good Dell but you need a highend video card if you do a lot of gaming. No one's onboard video can play games like Oblivion. Your processor will work fine and you have a good amount RAM (is it dual channel). Anyway, you should be happy with the 9150. The big advantage to Dell's is that they are user friendly (no screws to mess with and easy to work on). The disadvantage is they like HP and others....very proprietary.

It was the only operating system option. I figure I'll update my video card when and only when it becomes necessary, cheaper that way. So far I've had no problem running even the most powerful games like the new Rainbow Six. Trust me, I'm very happy with my Dell. Hopefully it'll last me 5 years.... I'm dreaming, I know...

Games that I've tried and have worked include: FIFA07, SimCity4, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., Company of Heroes, and Tiberium Wars. Games I actually play: FM07, PES6, Medieval Total War II, F.E.A.R. I always thought that Rainbow Six (Las Vegas if that makes a difference) was a very powerful game.

I thought i'd mention this. Which tends to get overlooked. If you tend to get a nvidea 8800gts or especially an 8800gtx. get a BIG psu. as these cards tend to eat a lot of power. Especially in SLI! I had the unfortunate experience of getting a new computer with an 8800gts(640mb) and as the psu was only a 450w it started to go a bit wrong(games freezing and not loading plus the fan on the card making a lot of noise when playing any game,even older ones!) Which pissed me off as i paid £800+ for it. Which i'd saved up for a while for. I took it back explaining the problem. and the next day they phoned back with the problem and sorted it. with a new psu(600w free of charge and an apology top go with it), oh and a free copy of 3dmark 06 professional. so i could -*test*-('") my new system. now i can play my games at full speed with all the settings turned up to the max. All I'm waiting for now is the new DX10 games i can play (especially Chrysis)which looks amazing! Try to get the 640mb version of the 8800gts as ive heard the 640 versions are better than the 320mb version. because the cards have a better relation to the onboard memory!
