Grasshopper and wife went to Florence, Italy
Dear friends and members of the Outpost #31, Last week, my wife Linda and I went for seven days to Florence, Italy. Because it was our last holiday before our child was born, we went out 'big time'. Staying in a four start hotel 'Roma', we visited the old city in a easy pase. Giving that Linda is 7 months pregnant now, high speed walking wasn't an option. I can just say one thing: If you love culture, art and a nice climate, visit Florence. It's marvellous to see what great masters accomplished centuries ago. The fresco's are to die for, the churches, the statues......just great. Enjoy a few pics. Fabulous pictures GH, looks like you and your wife had a marvellous time. I'd seen that ancient version of "football" on TV before in a documentary and from what I saw, playing with the ball and trying to score goals is only a minor part of the game where as punching the crap out of the opporsition is what this so called sport is really all about. Well that's what it looks like from my persepctive. Must be a hangover from old roman gladitorial combat maybe? STRENGTH & HONOUR! Perhaps they should rename it Footbrawl? :P
