Hello from merry old england
Hi all, Another Thing fan checking in from the UK. Been lurking around the baord long enough that I best thought I had better say hello. Well before you all tie me to the couch to perform the blood -*test*-('") (the guy with the flamethrower looks a bit on edge to me), I had better tell you all a bit about myself. Ok, I am a scifi nerd in general, but have always had a soft spot for The Thing since my parents subjected me to it at the tender age of 10. It took 15 years for me to pluck up the courage to buy the DVD and watch it again. These days I am often found working on my computer with The Thing playing away in the background. I use it as my third date movie, if they ain't running out the door by the time the kennel scene is finished, I know its worth keeping that girl around ;). My other scifi credentials? Well I started the United Kingdom Colonial Marines, a costuming group dedicated to the Alien and Predator franchises who go around UK SciFi cons and scare kids senseless to raise mone for the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (can anyone else spot the irony here LOL). In August about 16 of us are heading out to DragonCon in Atlanta. Sadly no Thing actors there, but James Hong (David Lo Pan in Big Trouble in Little China) will be there, and seeing as I am a big John Carpenter fan, that should just about make up for the lack of Thing guests. Anyways, look forward to my time on the board... now... I know you gentlemen have been through a lot, but when you find the time I'd rather not spend the rest of this winter TIED TO THIS F**KING COUCH!
