IFBB Pro Lee Apperson - Daytona Beach, FL
My mentor/role model in bodybuilding has always been Lee Apperson. I first saw pics of him in '96 while on Spring Break in Daytona and he has been my fave ever since. His physique is perfect; tall, symmetrical, superb conditioning, great shape and lines, tight waist, and all while maintaining the muscle mass to compete in the pro ranks. Lee is a big boy at 6' 2" and 260lbs but unlike many Pro's he is also athletic. He runs and swims and was an ocean lifeguard for Volusia County for years before turning Pro. Lee is turning 50 on May 3rd this year and has competed every year since 1984. He competes next this September in the Masters Pro class at the IFBB Atlantic City Pro: Sept. 13-14th. I got to meet him in '99 and again in 2004 where a buddy and I had the chance to train with him at the Gold's Gym in Port Orange: Chest & Bi's - best workout ever - and then chat training and life with him and his g/f Jen over lunch after the gym. A very cool, very real 'down to Earth' guy, we still stay in touch every few months via e-mail.
