Info on Macready's Sunglasses
Well, I have seen many people looking desperately for those sunglasses worn by R.J.MACREADY/KURT RUSSELL.
Well, if you're still looking, here are some clues:
The Style of the sunglasses are called "Glacier Glasses" or "Glacier Sunglasses."
There were two popular brands in the 80s:
Bolle and Vuarnet
I have no idea what specific brand the ones he was wearing were, they look like Vuarnet, but who knows. If you find a pair of these you will most likely be paying $200-300 dollars.
They don't make them anymore, so you will have to search for "vintage" glasses on ebay, or on the internet.
These look identical to Macready's glasses, unfortunately, the image is from a website that doesn't sell them, but serves as info on the use of eyewear.
These are REI glacier glasses, and are actually probably cheap repros, which look really good in the picture, and are black, and no longer sadly available.
HOWEVER, here's a pair of cheapos similar, but which have silver reflective lenses from this website:
