Macready Sunglasses: Bad Experience/Rip Off
I will preface this by saying, I did get a nice pair on ebay recently, and so the experience with this other company isn't as bad, as I got me a pair now. Here's the deal: This is a heads up in case anyone finds this company looking for their MACREADY SUNGLASSES: I found a decent looking pair of Glacier Sunglasses found on the following site: http://www.searchgear.com/cart.cgi?sid=0&doc=main.html They are black, not mirrored lenses, as I emailed them and asked. They said they had two pairs left. I ordered one. I used my credit card. DO NOT TRY THIS COMPANY OUT! Here's what happened: Their 'online' order form ISN'T one. It is merely a box that takes your number, and name, email, and orders nothing. I emailed them later, because I got no email confirmation. They emailed me back and said they were confirming my order, total, etc. They said they were shipping it out on Oct. 9th. Weeks later, I recieve nothing, so I email them again. They tell me they 'don't know what happened' and that the fires in San Diego have effected their business, and they don't know when they can 'look into it.' Two days later, I get another email which says, "the reason you didn't recieve the item was because your credit card was declined." Not possible, no problems with my card the same day, or today, unless they DIDN'T, or entered the wrong number, or they did take my money, because I haven't recieved a statement yet for the card. They also say, that they will be 'back in operation on monday' because the fires aren't going to effect their business. Don't you think they'd have told me two weeks ago that my card was declined? Or howbout the fact that their 'secure online ordering' is nothing but an ordinary form message box, and does not transact with the credit card company, instantly knowing if the card is real, mine, fake or even valid. I suspect something very wrong with this company and if you happen to find this site and the glasses their selling, you're seriously taking your chances, I haven't finished this incident yet, as I have yet to see if they actually did charge my card, or not, and there they are, out there with my card number, doing whatever they want with it. Bad deal, very bad.
