Thanks for the e-mail, pics, and info from your trip. That is unfortunate you could not access the site. When Steve and I were reseraching the trip we took in 2003 we learned that June was much too soon to try and reach the site, and winter snow may still be blocking the Salmon Glacier Road. If you made it all the way to the toe of the glacier you were 3/4 of the way up to the site.

Indeed you are quite correct, the glacier is looking seriously depleted since we were there in 2003, and we were there late summer. Your photo is from early June. Not good. I would venture a guess just from our photos and observations here that something is definitely up in regards to global warming...
