Re-make fallout
Now, I understand that everybody in this forum is a die-hard The Thing fan. But, there is an issue that will come up when the re-make is released: The Thing fans, the next generation. We must remember that there very well could be an influx of new fans joining up on Outpost31.com who would have never even heard of the version of The Thing that we here love. We will have to be considerate to those new fans and not blast them for what we could consider a travesty of a re-make. If we don't try to "guide" some of these new fans, they could very well end up starting a new website (Outpost32.com ?) to discuss the re-make etc. So, do we all have that inner Thing that will assimilate the next generation?

I think if anything people should see the original before watching the remake. Regardless, if they do continue to make this remake, they should stay true to the original while maintaining the same feel and giving it a different flair (no pun intended.) There's really no reason why our new generation should witness a movie any better anyways.

I think that, like the videogame, the remake will be a great opportunity to gather new fans for the 82' version so I'm all for it.
