That is cool, Richard just sent us an e-mail a few weeks ago around his 79th B-Day. Can you tell him that the fans at this site Outpost #31 say Hi when you see him next? Maybe get a photo of thw two of you together and send it in. That would be really cool.
Thanks,
T

Well, there are people out there who would claim such things just to get attention. Since we don't know you very well, we cannot judge. So we need proof in order to believe it. Sorry if that's rude, but it's just hard to believe these things sometimes.
Anyhow, welcome to the Outpost.

yeahh ill let him know and try to get a picture. i dont know when the next time i see him will be... its not that often.
i understand completely the whole thing with people doing it to get attention and it annoys me when people lie about things like that. it doesnt come off as rude to me mostly cause i understand where you are coming from. i dont have much proof to give. he is related to me through my dads side of the family and ive heard more about him then i have actually seen him. i remember going up to maine and all my great grandfather would talk about was how well he is doing for himself and how i should try to talk to him so i can get more involved with acting since i do it myself and love it like richard. i dont have any proof except for what i have been told by my parents and the like 5 times i have ever met him. you can chose to believe me or you can chose not to but either way i will completely understand

Troll, unless proven otherwise, and the burden of proof lies with you.
If you insist that you are related to Mr. Dysart, then perhaps you can answer the following simple question: how many wives has Richard had?

he is on his third wife, Kathryn
death_rocker110- 04-29-2008
Well, he could've just looked that up as well, if he's tolling that is.
xo amanduh- 04-29-2008
ok AMANDA means im a girl thank you and im not tolling, im not that kind of person even though you dont know who i am
XidiouX- 04-30-2008
Two more questions Amanda, if you don't mind:
1) What age are you?
2) What is your exact relation to Richard Dysart?
Sorry to be overly inquisitive, but it is only by checking claims you make against verifiable facts that you will be taken seriously here.

im like his 3rd cousin. he is my dads second cousin. my great grandfathers nephew i want to say but not exactly positive on that one. and im 18 almost 19
XidiouX- 04-30-2008
Dear Amanda,
Thank you for this information and I'm actually beginning to think that you might really be telling the truth. However, when we start talking about second and third cousins, things get ambiguous and messy. Could you perhaps - and if necessary ask relatives to help - clarify things and explain your relationship to Richard in detailed and explicit father/mother/son/daughter terms? It might be a pain in the ass to do this but if you're telling the truth, it will be worth it for all of us it in the end.

Alright, alright. Let's not put a whole lot of pressure on her.
I think it was the way you introduced yourself that made people suspicious. If you had just become a member and posted some stuff and then when talking about yourself, described that you were related to Richard Dysart, it might have been a little easier for people to believe. When someone just comes and randomly posts, "Oh hey, I'm related to such and such..." it's hard take seriously.
But hey, if you can find a picture and post it that'd be great. That'd be the best proof. Of course, we have to kinda go out on a limb because it's very easy to deceive people on message boards. It'd be pretty cool if we really did indeed have family of some of the cast/crew on this site. Either way, welcome. And I hope that we aren't being too hard on you, it's just odd circumstances here. :D
Be sure to check out some of the other sections of this site and forum. Trust no one...

Trust no one.
I've been thinking maybe we could use some kind of blood serum -*test*-('"). That should be able to distinguish real family members from...er...imitations.
