Safe From Bears? Not quite!!
To -*test*-('") Todd's theory that we're safe from bears, I traveled into the future to the 2009 trip to Stewart, and captured this footage. Unfortunately, we're not safe from mutant grizzlies. The future sure changed us. Todd for some reason has changed into a young girl, Stefan is the mustachioed gent, and I'm the one in the sleeping bag: http://www.badmovies.org/multimedia/movies6/prophecy1.mpg

rotf This is from the movie Prophecy? I remember seeing the box cover as a kid, but never saw it. Seeee Todd! We're all gonna die in sleeping bags! lol

It's from a favorite childhood movie called Prophecy, starring Talia Shire (Adrian, from the Rocky movies), Armande Assante, and none other than Richard Dysart, a.k.a. Doc Copper from The Thing!!! It scared the hell out of me as a kid, espcially when we would go camping (for obvious reasons). Cheesy B-movie by today's standards, but still good. It's prime for a remake, i think. Tthe scene in the clip has a family (dad, daughter, and son) camping out, and getting attacked by a giant mutated bear. The dad and daughter get killed quickly, while the poor kid in the sleeping bag tried to hop away, and the bear wallops him into a rock, sending feathers from the sleeping bag everywhere (not to mention the blood).

Somehow I completely missed this thread, I haven't seen that film but it did not do too well: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0079758/ The clip no longer works. Cool trivia for Prophecy (1979): Filmed in British Columbia in 1978, this movie marked the beginning of "Hollywood North", the major start to the development of a massive film production business in Vancouver and other parts of the province of British Columbia, in Canada. Since then hundreds of "American" movies have been filmed in the Canadian province. Here's some awesome pics of the real bears around Stewart: http://www.fishcreek.org/photographers/bobgurr/index.shtml http://www.fishcreek.org/photographers/ed-lorna/index.shtml http://www.fishcreek.org/photographers/claudiapj/index.shtml T

Cool pics! Todd, Hollywood North is now dead, thanks to the falling dollar. But here in MI, we're giving HUGE tax breaks to lure Hollywood here. We already hooked Clint Eastwood for an upcoming movie.
