Indeed, I saw a clip of the film on iTunes and it looks to be hillarious.
Especially Robert Downey Jr as a black man! what a scream! :D

A bump
I saw this movie last night and I gotta say I loved it. It was hilarious, the story was entertaining, all the actors did well I think.
I was most surprised by Tom Cruise though. First because I had no idea he was even in the movie. Secondly because he did a fantastic job with his character. Quite funny indeed.
All in all I had high hopes for a comedy mixing Jack Black Ben Stiller and Robert Downey Jr, and they did not disappoint, nor did any of the other actors.

I'm totally going to see this!

My friend told me that there was a massive pro-*test*-('") to this movie.
Apparently there is a character named Simple Jim or something, and his depiction pokes fun at the mentally retarded.
So a massive group of mentally retarded people are actively pro-*test*-('")ing the film on the streets of NYC...
I don't know whether to laugh, or to cry...

Just another misconception from people who didn't see the movie really.
Ben Stiller who plays your general action dude once tried to do a more dramatic role to win an Oscar by playing "Simple Jack", a mentally retarded man. They don't make fun of people with mental disabilities in the least, and isntwad make fun of actors who try to play them, who trivialize them, and make them seem worse off. If anything, they should be thanking this movie, but of course, the words "retard" is used in the movie (even if it IS in the literal sense, describing someone who is mentally retarded) and people have to bitch about it.

Simple Jack is essentially a satire of Forrest Gump. To those people who feel the need to pro-*test*-('") satire: lay off the energy drinks.
Normally I can't stand Ben Stiller related cinema, but this was one of the best comedies I've seen in the past year or so. That said, Downey really made the movie his.
Oh, and the Tom Cruise scene is MONEY!

They knocked it off Youtube...the bastards. :x

Tropic Thunder was one of the funniest movies I have had the pleasure in seeing in a long time. Robert Downie Jr is a comic genius and his character, Kirk Lazarus, was just an absolute scream.
Tom Cruise's performance as Les Grossman, the fired up movie exec, was also phenomenal.
I especially loved the "trailers" at the beginning of the film and I dam near pissed myself laughing at "Satans Alley"!
I'm rating this as a 8.75/10.

Oh my god. This movie was bizarre! Not near what I was expecting!
