UFO Sightings in the UK & Australia - they're here.... I am not sure if the community here is aware of this news but a few online newservices are running with this story. As usual though it doesn't get headline billing but it does appear to be taken seriously.

Now since we're all fans of The Thing, we are open to the possibility of alien life coming to this planet.
I think we are being visited now and have been visit by advanced alien species for THOUSANDS of years.
To quote Palmer, "Hotrods of the gods man! They're dropping out of the sky likes flies. They practically OWN south america"
Never have truer words, even in jest and in one of the grea-*test*-('") science fiction/horror movies of ALL TIME, have been spoken. And now we are seeing a sharp increase in UFO activity once again. This time the skeptics and professional spoilers are silent because this time, the evidence is there and the credibility of the witnesses to these incredible events are beyond reproach. Last week a UK police helicopter over Cardiff city encountered a UFO and even pursued it for a bit! Astounding!
My own feeling is this: humanity is being observed, evaluated by these advanced races. They have been no doubt watching our progression for thousands of years and have now started to reveal themselves to the world. Of course the conspiracy of Roswell and the US governments on going cover up speaks volumes on this. Perhaps humanity wasn't ready for the idea of alien contact back in the 1950's but I think we're almost ready now.
What I suspect though the aliens are waiting for is for humanity to get it together in the form of a single planetary government and put an end to petty nation states. The reason being what would be the point inttrying to negotiate with over a 170 plus nations when you can talk to just 1 global body? It makes more sense and would no doubt preclude a lot of potential for conflict here on earth that would no doubt spring up if say only the US and its allies signed a treaty with the aliens and left China, Russia, India and the rest of the world to go and get stuffed but in the interest of avoiding a nasty little war down here on earth, it'd be better if we quickly dumped the UN and set up a real planetary government that has real power and can actually get things done!
So then friends, I'd invite you to comment here on your ideas and feelings on the possibility that we are not alone in our galaxy and what you think the ramifications of first contact with beings that are more advanced than us would be.
A taste of what is to come?

Any suggestion that it could also be American military experiments?

Any suggestion that it could also be American military experiments?
Well no.
Here is why:
1 - if it was a military experimental craft sighted then wouldn't that defeat the whole purpose of keeping the "experimental " vehicle a secret? I can clearly recall back in the early 1980's when news leaked out when a proto type stealth fighter crashed on US home soil. This was back in the days of the cold war and such technolgy was so secret and jealously guarded that aside from the inital reports, the news blackout was so effective that everyone soon quickly forgot what had happened. why allow people to see theirm and let these new planes be photographed? nope, not the sort of thing they do.
2 - why on earth would an experimental aircraft want to hover over a tiny outback town in australia for a long period of time? Again, not rational behaviour for -*test*-('") pilots who are in control of billion dollar hardware and thus they don't do this sort of thing, not if they want to keep flying these wonderful new planes that is.
3 - If it were an experimental aircraft, why would it be -*test*-('")ed over non US airspace? Granted the UK and Australia are as close as allies get for the US but I seriously doubt that the US airforce would authorise -*test*-('") flights of experimental aircraft over non US soil...just not going to happen. The ramifications if the EAC crashing on non US territory, even an allies national soil, would mean heads would roll in the pentagon. Besides they already have a few -*test*-('")ing areas such as Groom Lake and area 51.
So the likelyhood of these UFO's being US airforce EAC's, is a gnats -*test*-('")icle away from zero. In other words, infentesimally small.
Also, swamp gas and all the other bullshit excuses that skeptics use aren't going to stand here.
Lets consider that ET is dropping by and checking us out eh?

Covering their tracks, maintaining that it is an extra-terrestrial UFO.
If you ask me, that stuff in Iraq was likely military.
Don't get me wrong, I definitely believe in aliens, but sometimes it's really the military just spooking us.
death_rocker110- 06-27-2008
I definitely believe in aliens. But I do agree with FF in that the military does get a good laugh from fooling around with this stuff.

From The Australian News
It seems the truth really is out thereEdgar Mitchell, right, in 1970 with other members of the Apollo 14 crew
Former NASA astronaut Edgar Mitchell says aliens have contacted humans several times but governments have hidden the truth for 60 years. Either aliens have been to Earth or astronaut's out there
The Apollo 14 astronaut said he was aware of many UFO visits to Earth during his NASA career but each one was covered up.
Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as "little people who look strange to us". He said the aliens were similar to the traditional Hollywood image of having a small frame, large eyes and head.
Dr Mitchell was the sixth man to walk on the moon and holds the record, with Alan Shepard, for the longest moon walk - nine hours and 17 minutes.
In an interview conveniently timed to coincide with yesterday's launch of the second X-Files movie, based on the science fiction television series starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson, he said human technology was "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and warned: "Had they been hostile ... we would be gone by now".
"I happen to have been privileged enough to be in on the fact that we've been visited on this planet and the UFO phenomena is real," Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper quoted Dr Mitchell as saying.
"It's been well covered up by all our governments for the last 60 years or so, but slowly it's leaked out and some of us have been privileged to have been briefed on some of it."
UFO theorists believe Roswell in New Mexico was the site of an alien crash in 1947.
"I've been in military and intelligence circles who know that beneath the surface of what has been public knowledge, yes, we have been visited. Reading the papers recently, it's been happening quite a bit."
Dr Mitchell, who has a Bachelor of Science degree in aeronautical engineering and a Doctor of Science degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, claimed Roswell was real and similar alien visits continued to be investigated.
He told the astonished Kerrang! radio host Nick Margerrison: "This is really starting to open up. I think we're headed for real disclosure and some serious organisations are moving in that direction."
The Telegraph quoted Margerrison as saying: "I thought I'd stumbled on some sort of astronaut humour but he was absolutely serious that aliens are definitely out there and there's no debating it."
Officials from NASA, however, were quick to play down the comments.
In a statement, a spokesman said: "NASA does not track UFOs. NASA is not involved in any sort of cover-up about alien life on this planet or anywhere in the universe.
"Dr Mitchell is a great American, but we do not share his opinions on this issue."
"They're dropping outta the sky like flies!" 8)

Sweet stuff.

I honestly don't believe in aliens. No bullshit.
I think it's all about humanity, and that the universe was put here for us to do with what we will.

I honestly don't believe in aliens. No bullshit.
I think it's all about humanity, and that the universe was put here for us to do with what we will.
In a cosmos that is as enormous as it is, I find that stance quite baffling.
I can't recall the exact formula that Carl Sagan came up with but in just our galaxy alone, which contains at least a 100 billion star systems, if you enage in a reductive mathematical formula, he concluded that there would be about 15 systems that produced a sentient species. Now that was being very conservative in it's estimates.
Since the late 1990's, astronomoers have been able to spot planets in obit around stars and they're finding that planetary systems are quite common. I think the probility is that there is intelligent life out there and it's quite possible there a re some alien life forms that are more advanced than us as well as alien life which maybe nothing more than amoebas.

You don't need oxygen and our elements to make life. It's proven that life can develop under different conditions.
Here is the radio interview Dr Edgar Mitchell, former NASA astronaut & moonwalker gave just 2 days ago.
Moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell Claims Alien Contact Cover-up"there has been visitation"
July 24, 2008 12:01am
FORMER NASA astronaut and moon-walker Dr Edgar Mitchell - a veteran of the Apollo 14 mission - has stunningly claimed aliens exist.
And he says extra-terrestrials have visited Earth on several occasions - but the alien contact has been repeatedly covered up by governments for six decades.
Dr Mitchell, 77, said during a radio interview that sources at the space agency who had had contact with aliens described the beings as 'little people who look strange to us.'
He said supposedly real-life ET's were similar to the traditional image of a small frame, large eyes and head.
Chillingly, he claimed our technology is "not nearly as sophisticated" as theirs and "had they been hostile", he warned "we would be been gone by now".
I've just finished listening to this and I'm quite frankly stunned by the enormity of these claims. I'm usually quite a skeptic however I've tried to keep an open mind on the possibility of alien life. I suppose that comes from being an avid sci-fi reader etc.
If, as dr Mitchell says, there will be a full disclosuer of the facts on alien visitations to Earth over the next few years thn our view on the universe and our place within it, will change completely.
Perhaps we will see something wonderful? The universe becomes open to us and new and incredible beings wish to welcome us into a wider galatic society? Are we ready for something like that? I think we could be but it will take some major re-adjustments of attitudes amongst certain grpups and nations.
In all, interesting times ahead.

Hey guys,
first of all: I do believe in alien races, they are out there. There's really no reason why it shouldn't be there.
Second, the sightings. I just can't believe that voodoo-bullshit. If the aliens want to contact us, well,.....we are here!!
Imagine that you fly over zillions of miles, just to show up on Earth for a quick 'flash'.
Funny with these kind of sightings is that it is always 'obscure'. I can't tell head nor tail from these videos.
These kind of videos can be just anything.
Third, I have seen some docu's on you-tube. Just look at those pieces and draw your own conclusions.
As far as I am concerned, we never went to the moon. The truth lies in the details, which are far better illuminated than any 'UFO' video I've come across.

Sorry Talwyn, I can't back you up on this one.
Talwyn- 07-28-2008
I understand your position GH and respect it however I do believe you are wrong in thinking the moon landings were faked.
The most glaring reason why this belief is wrong is that people who believe in the fake apollo missions forget this one most significant factor: THE RUSSIANS!
Look, it's quite simple, if the Russians had ANY inkling that the US was faking this, they'd have had the propaganda coup of the centuary!
The cold war was in full swing and the Russians themselves were very close to getting their own people to the moon, forcing NASA to take some chances which luckily for NASA, paid off in getting there first. Oh, btw, the KGB had enough spies and moles throught the various arms of the US government to know if the Apollo landings were being staged and would have made the US the laughing stock of the world if this was being done.
Sorry GH but the cold war was real, the space race was real and the moon landings were real. I hope you understand this.
In regards to aliens making contact, I've explained why they don't and why most governments have covered it up in a previous post. It is about control and from the aliens POV, its about trying not to interfere with our development as a species. I've always thought StarTrek was social programing anyway, getting humanity to slowly accept the concept of a wider universe populated with many intelligent lifeforms who probably abide with some sort of prime directive.
That's what I think is going on anyway.
grasshopper- 07-29-2008
Hello Talwyn,
Thanks for the reply. Of course, everyone is entitled to believe what ever you want. I am on other ground here, buddy.
Sure, the Russians would have a field day IF they could prove that the landings are fake.
But consider this: Back in the 70's, no one had ever believed that there would be 'internet'. This enables us to have world-wide discussions, views and other stuff.
I am not telling anyone that they should believe that the landings are false, I am just proclaiming that they should look at the stuff.
There's just more doubtfull stuff, Talwyn.
