Just another Thing-enthusiast sayin' "Hey!" from the big state of Texas! I've been slaving away on a working boardgame model using y'alls 'The Thing Board Game' rules and descriptions, and I don't envy the fellers who work for Milton Bradley. Got most of the cards and tokens done (just need to laminate them), and finish work on the board itself. I plan on surprising my RPG group with it soon. I read in the News section you heard from Thomas Waites (Windows). That's awesome :D ! He's a great actor, and deserves more recognition than he gets (he was cool as The Fox in The Warriors, I wish they hadn't killed him off so early :( ). I can't wait to play that boardgame :D ! It's gonna be cool! And yes, thething.ca, that pic of Mac and his "best gal" is the only one in color I've seen, too. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got it. Hmmmmm...maybe THAT"S where I snagged that shot. Hell, who knows? I've slept since then :?! Thanks for the welcome, Todd! Yeah, I'm finishing up the Map on the computer this week, hopefully. I had to scrap the first batch of cards and tokens I ran through the color laser, the font I picked was NOT a good choice, so those will have to be printed again :( ...sigh. Well, no use cryin' over spilt guts. I'll post some pics of the project-in-process. I finished the Map sections on the color laser this morning and they look sweet (well, as sweet as it gets with my limited computer talent :( ), take a look at one of the sections (I included a salute to the Alan Dean Foster novelization of the script!) : http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r241/mythosman_2000/mappart6.jpg Each section is the size of a sheet of typing paper, and I plan on attaching the sections together and then running the whole thing thru a giant laminater. HI Mythosman, I began working on the exact same thing yesterday. My plan was to finish it before This weekend so that I could play it with my brother and a few others up in ze mountains^^ I made it really simple though. So far I've cut out 30 cards from photopaper and drawn the map by hand on a thick A3 sized paper. Not sure How im suppose to make the Character tokens/counters or whatever they are called though. When I come back down from the mountain, if I don't freeze to death or Become infected that is, I'll make a better version of it using photoshop for the cards etc:) Nice to see someone else working on the Board game ^^ please keep me posted! /Draug
