Who goes there?...”MaCready...The Thing” model diorama..
Here is a diorama I finished a while back. Thought I would share it with you all. I even came up with a small deleted scene to fit the piece. Deleted scene….. Helicopter pilot MaCready returned from the Norwegians campsite with the burned, mutated creature. He knew what he was about to show the other men needed to be torched after it was examined. So he stopped by an outside store room to pick up a can of gasoline, grab some flares, and have a quick smoke to settle his nerves. Little did he know that something was lurking about in the dark… The Kit…... This is the 1/6 scale Needful Things resin model kit of John MaCready from “The Thing.” This kit was flawless and the detail on it is fantastic. It was very clean and a pleasure to work on. All hand painted here fellas. The Base…. I scratch built the base using ALOT of balsa wood. Sprayed it black and highlighted it with different browns. All the accessories are from various models and store bought toys. I had to repaint all of them to get the look I desired. I sprayed a mist of white and aqua blue on parts of the base, and then I used spray snow flocking to build it up. Then the whole thing was sealed with a matte finish.
