WhyOutpost 31?? Dumb new guy question I'm sure, but why is this site Outpost #31 when all the movie action took place at National Science Institute 4?

Your question: In the original novella Who Goes There? (upon which the '82 film is based) the Antarctic camp is called Outpost #31. In the film it is mentioned as Outpost #31 twice; when Windows is on the radio trying to get through and when Mac makes his tape. The sign states it as NSF Station 4. So we guess it is NSF Station 4, Outpost #31.
